Body Photage Studio in Denver, Colorado

Body Photage is a fine art figure photography studio located in Denver, Colorado. The studio is owned and operated Darrell and Sherry Pierson.  The site is beautiful and the photography in galleries are stunning.  The photographs on the site a great source for inspiration.  The work done by Darrell and Sherry at Body Photage is a show case of perfection in fine art figure photography.  I don't believe that you will find a better example of this type of photography anywhere.

Darrell and Sherry will be offering workshops in the future.  For more information on future and past workshops, please visit their website.

New photoblog from Rolando Gomez - EditorialNudes.com

Photography by and copyrighted by Rolando Gomez

Roland Gomez, founder of Garage Glamour, has just put up a new photoblog called EditorialNudes.com. The new site is a companion to his LensDiaries.com, non-nude site. You may ask "What is an Editorial Nude" and here is a link to a recent post from Rolando with the answer.

Rolando has a whole pot of different photoblog's and I would highly recommend checking them all out.f  You can really learn about from his various sites.  Unfortunately, he is in the process of phasing out his live seminars but with all the information he has or is releasing on the internet and in his books, you will still have a source to learn from him

Edward S Curtis's Aphrodite

The Denver Art Museum in Denver, Colorado, currently has a photography exhibit called "Exposure: Photos from the Vault".  Among the artist being exhibited are Ansel Adams, Robert Frank, Diane Arbus, Ruth Bernhard, Edward S Curtis, and  Ron Wohlauer.  It is always inspiring to see the actual photographs of the great photographers and not just pictures in a magazine or on the Internet of the photographs.
The biggest surprise in the show was a nude by Edward S. Curtis who is primarily known for his sepia toned photographs of the American West and of the Native American People.  The photograph, Aphrodite, is a blue toned photograph of a woman floating in water on her back shot around the 192O-1930 time frame.  From the information I found on the Internet about the photograph, apparently it is a very rare.  I'm glad I got a chance to see it.

If you are in Denver and get a chance, I would recommend visiting the Denver Art Museum as well as the Camera Obscura Gallery right across the street.  The Camera Obscura Gallery houses one of the finest collections of fine art photography between the East and West coast of the United States. The show " Exposure: Photos from the Vault" at the Denver Art Museum is scheduled to run through October 31, 2010.

Christa Meola's Blog

Earlier today when I was checking my Facebook page, I noticed a posting from Kim Weston. He and Christa Meola are doing a seminar at his Wildcat Studio in Carmel, CA on October 15-17, 2010.  In the posting it gave a link to Christa's blog.

Christa has one of the best photography blogs I have seen. According to her blog, she calls herself a "lifestyle photographer specializing in women and families".  Her work is fantastic.

My guess is that the seminar being put on my Kim and Christa will sell out.  When I check earlier today there were only 4 spots left.  It should be a great seminar and experience to work with these two outstanding photographers.

Zoe Wiseman

Zoe Wiseman has been a model, photographer, publisher of several books, and since 1998 running several websites promoting fine art nude photography and it's community.  Her website, figuremodels.org, had over 14,000,000 hits in it's 1st year and CommunityZoe.com had over 8,000,000 hits in 2009.

Photo Art Magazine is quoted as saying about Zoe's photography - “Wiseman has chosen a landscape of dramatic form and line and projected the nude onto it. She has sought a fusion of the figure within the landscape in the simplest apportionment of surfaces, natural formations, nudity and light. It is characteristic vastness. It gives us a sense of desolation and liberation. It is a magical space.”

The quality of the photography and the photographers on her sites are probably the best on the internet.  If you are looking for inspiration, I would strongly suggest looking up any of her sites listed below.

Several years ago photographer P. Miller and poet Peter Crane published a book called Human Landscapes - Interpreting the Human Form.  It is an amazing book with stunning photography.  As P. Miller says on his website, the book is a soaring, lyrical tribute to the human body, beauty, the feminine mystique, and the natural world.  I could not agree more.
The book can be ordered from you local bookstore, Barnes & Noble, Photo-eye.com or the University of New Mexico Press.
