New photoblog from Rolando Gomez - EditorialNudes.com

Photography by and copyrighted by Rolando Gomez

Roland Gomez, founder of Garage Glamour, has just put up a new photoblog called EditorialNudes.com. The new site is a companion to his LensDiaries.com, non-nude site. You may ask "What is an Editorial Nude" and here is a link to a recent post from Rolando with the answer.

Rolando has a whole pot of different photoblog's and I would highly recommend checking them all out.f  You can really learn about from his various sites.  Unfortunately, he is in the process of phasing out his live seminars but with all the information he has or is releasing on the internet and in his books, you will still have a source to learn from him

Edward S Curtis's Aphrodite

The Denver Art Museum in Denver, Colorado, currently has a photography exhibit called "Exposure: Photos from the Vault".  Among the artist being exhibited are Ansel Adams, Robert Frank, Diane Arbus, Ruth Bernhard, Edward S Curtis, and  Ron Wohlauer.  It is always inspiring to see the actual photographs of the great photographers and not just pictures in a magazine or on the Internet of the photographs.
The biggest surprise in the show was a nude by Edward S. Curtis who is primarily known for his sepia toned photographs of the American West and of the Native American People.  The photograph, Aphrodite, is a blue toned photograph of a woman floating in water on her back shot around the 192O-1930 time frame.  From the information I found on the Internet about the photograph, apparently it is a very rare.  I'm glad I got a chance to see it.

If you are in Denver and get a chance, I would recommend visiting the Denver Art Museum as well as the Camera Obscura Gallery right across the street.  The Camera Obscura Gallery houses one of the finest collections of fine art photography between the East and West coast of the United States. The show " Exposure: Photos from the Vault" at the Denver Art Museum is scheduled to run through October 31, 2010.
